Client — Full operating workflow
For clients using the FamilyCase client portal at https://app.familycase.ai/portal/.
Your portal shows only your matters and what your law firm has shared with you. It is not the attorney workspace.
End-to-end client loop
Invite email → Set password → Sign in to /portal/
→ Home (status & to-dos) → Messages / Documents / Evidence
→ Approvals → Calendar → Invoices (if enabled) → Profile
1. Accept your invite
- Open the invitation email from your firm (check spam).
- Set a strong password when prompted.
- Sign in at https://app.familycase.ai/portal/.
If the link expired, ask your attorney or firm to resend the invite.
2. Home dashboard
Home shows case status, items waiting on you, upcoming calendar events, and quick actions such as send evidence, message your lawyer, approve pending items, or pay an invoice (when enabled).
3. Understand your case
My case — plain-language summary of your matter, who is on your team, and what is happening now.
4. Documents and evidence

Uploads are timestamped and attached to your matter. Add a short description so your legal team knows what each file is.
5. Messages
Messages is the secure channel to your legal team. Prefer it over personal email for case questions and documents they asked you to provide.
6. Approvals
When something needs your decision:
- Open Approvals (or the document).
- Read it (use plain-English explain if offered).
- Approve or Request changes with a note.
Approvals are logged on your matter.
7. Calendar
Calendar lists hearings, appointments, and deadlines your firm has shared. Use Schedule a call when that action is available.
8. Invoices and billing (if enabled)
Invoices & billing — view invoices, pay online when your firm enabled payments, and see trust information only if your firm turned that on.
9. Profile and safety
Profile — contact details, password, notification preferences, sessions, and any safety / privacy options your firm offers. Keep your email and phone current so you do not miss updates.
Privacy
Your portal is protected by your login and is visible to you and your assigned legal team. FamilyCase support does not browse your case for curiosity; exceptional support access is controlled and audited.
